Liverpool ace Sadio Mane admits their Champions League final defeat last season remains a massive motivating factor for the players this term.

The Reds will now face a long-awaited showdown with Bayern Munich at Anfield - and Mane admits it will be a meeting of "two extraordinary teams".

After fulfilling a dream of playing in the Champions League final last year, Mane revealed he is more motivated than ever to not only return but lift the iconic trophy.

"Bayern was really close to reaching the final, but Real was strong," Mane told Bild.

"Unfortunately, we also felt that in the final.

"Now a duel with Bayern has come already in the second round. Last season shows it is there for two extraordinary teams to meet.

"For me it was a dream to play the Champions League final.

"All the more I want to go there again and win it!"
