Lichtsteiner: Bonucci needs to be realistic about Juventus departure

Former Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner wasn't surprised by Leonardo Bonucci's departure for Union Berlin last month.

Bonucci is now taking legal action against Juve over the way he was treated in preseason.

Former teammate Litchsteiner believes Bonucci needs to be more realistic about this stage in his career. He told Radio Serie A: "Like you, I still remember that match in Porto: from there, in my opinion, relationships became difficult between them. Then when he returned from Milan everything didn't seem right."

Lichtsteiner continued: "The difficulty of a player, obviously, is even if you have won a lot, even if you have done a lot. If you no longer perform as well as before, the team rightly looks around. The only point that I didn't like was washing clothes in public. In fact, certain things are not easy to accept, maybe as a player I too thought I was right, then in the end, after a little distance, after two or three years, maybe I would have done things differently.

"Also that's part of life."
