Veteran LA Galaxy midfielder Eddie Lewis is hoping to be ready for their weekend clash against the Colorado Rapids. Having to watch the games from the stands is not how Lewis wanted to start the season.

"You know how enjoyable the games are, just by nature the reason we're all here is how competitive everybody is," said Lewis "It was a little bit tough to watch."

Lewis, who has been named as Vice Captain for this campaign, still got into the action in the locker room.

"I told the guys at halftime the last 20 or 30 minutes you could see already D.C. was fading a bit," Lewis said, "and we certainly were fitter. If we could keep ourselves in it, we'd definitely have the lion's share of chances in the second half."
