Leicester City striker Patson Daka has stated that he must always be on his game when James Maddison has the ball.

The duo are attempting to create a similar partnership to what Maddison enjoys with Jamie Vardy.

Maddison was at his best in the Premier League on Monday in a 4-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest.

“It's good, but I wouldn't say we're over the moon because this is just the first step to what we want to achieve," Daka told LCFCTV post-game.

“It was an amazing night, especially for the fans, we really wanted to do it for them because we know how important it is.

“It was more than just a game, it was about the City, just the feeling of the fans having that victory."

“We had a great start and then getting the goal, it made it even more amazing and then in a split second again we got another goal," Daka added.

“That just gave us the feeling of setting the tempo of the game and we destroyed them."

“It's amazing to play with everyone here at the club, every player carries a special individual brilliance which they bring to the team and contribute," he added on Maddison and his teammates.

“James Maddison is one of them, he's an exceptional player we know how talented he is.

“It's a good feeling to play alongside him because you know that at any given point he can surprise you with the ball, so you have to be ready every time."
