Leicester City signing Islam Slimani has said his farewell to Sporting CP and their fans.

The Algerian took to Instagram to pay tribute to his former club:

"It is with a bitter taste that I write to you this message, the fans who have supported me, sang and cheered my name from the seats. You live in my heart and will stay there forever.

"My experience at this club will forever stay in my heart, it allowed me to evolve and reach ever higher. This is thanks to you.

"I also want to thank my colleagues throughout these beautiful years. Teammates, my brothers, with whom I shared wonderful moments. I wish you success in the future. Also the coaches who trusted me, who taught me a lot, the medical department and everyone who works at the club."
