Leicester boss Rodgers excited to see Vardy take on Maguire

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers cannot wait to see Jamie Vardy go up against Harry Maguire.

The two Englishmen and former teammates will face off against each other as Leicester play Manchester United.

Maguire switched from Leicester to United this summer in a big money deal.

And Rodgers wants to see what his star striker can do against one of the best defenders in the league.

"I don't think it's anything personal, I think every time (Vardy) plays he wants to score," said Rodgers to reporters.

"They're both outstanding players in their own right.

"Jamie, with the pace and with the goalscoring ability he has, will always be a threat to any centre-half.

"So we'll look forward to that over the weekend.

"I think the fans appreciate what Harry gave to the club. Every fan will look at it as Leicester City have got £80m for a centre-half they bought for £17m a few years ago.

"All round it was good business for everyone, for the club, for Harry and we move on."
