Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has challenged Jamie Vardy to prove Sam Allardyce wrong.
Vardy was forced to play second fiddle as England boss Sam Allardyce opted for the out-of-form Harry Kane for the win over Slovakia.
The Foxes boss said: “Jamie not playing for England is good for me – but for him, no.
“Maybe he is more hungry. I would say: 'Show me that hunger. You have to fight and say hey Sam, I am ready to play.'
“A lot of my players go around the world without playing. I'm happy with it. It's good. I'm okay with it. National managers want the players and we must understand that."
