Leeds striker Bamford urges for calm after Brentford thumping

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford urged calm after defeat at Brentford.

Leeds were thumped 5-2 by the Bees in London.

Bamford said: "It's not where we wanted to be. You always say each game is a learning curve but we can't do what we did - get back in the game and then throw it away within seconds. It was naive from us.

"We have got a young team but we have to learn quickly because you can't get away with that. There's always mistakes in games and most of the time they lead to goals, and that's unfortunately what happened today. But yeah, as you can tell, it's pretty frustrating.

"I think so yeah [Mistakes being due to inexperience], it's about people becoming leaders on the pitch. You don't become that until you learn. Their first two goals were set pieces and we arguably should've had a penalty ourselves which probably makes the game a little bit different.

"It's all ifs and buts at the end of the day so at the minute, we'll just have to keep working on what we did wrong and try and be better."

Bamford then dismissed claims that there might be worry within the side that they've not won in three league games and how good it felt to be out on the pitch.

He said: "No, not at all, we've actually had a really good start. You say 'no wins in three', but there have been games where we've drawn but we should've won them. Today, we just have to write it off and forget about it. It was just one of them days.

"It's annoying when you've been injured for a while like I was last season, you come back and you get little aches and pains which seem to be non-stop. It was nice to be out there though, the keeper got a touch on the one I missed but I know with this team, chances will come more and more and I'll score some goals."
