Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch has spoken about goalkeeper Illan Meslier's World Cup chances.
The young shot stopper is in with a slim chance of earning a call-up to Didier Deschamps France squad for the tournament in Qatar this winter.
Meslier is the France Under-21 keeper, but the 22-year-old is yet to earn a senior call-up.
Hugo Lloris, Alphonse Areola, and Alban Lafont are ahead of him in the pecking order at present.
“I spoke to him [Meslier] about that about a month ago, and he seemed to think it was unrealistic," Marsch said to reporters about the matter.
“So I would just go off that.
“But I think as a young goalkeeper he fits the criteria for that third goalkeeper position in a World Cup squad."
