Leeds boss Bielsa delighted defeating Everton

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa was delighted with their 1-0 win at Everton.

An end-to-end contest at Goodison Park was settled by Brazilian attacker Raphinha's 79th-minute strike.

Speaking after the full-time whistle, Bielsa was pleased to come away from Goodison Park with all three points.

He said: “It was a very entertaining game, the result, I think was a fair one.

“The performance of our team was a satisfactory one.

“It was very difficult to defend against their strikers, they are very good.

“If we hadn't had such a balanced, constant effort throughout, it would have been more difficult."

Last time out, Bielsa's side had multiple chances but couldn't break through against Arsenal.

When asked if he thought it would be a repeat of last Sunday's game, the head coach gave his thoughts.

“To be honest I was thinking about this game and how we could go on to win it," Marcelo explained.

“But it is right, it did have that in common with the Arsenal game that we missed many chances.

“The difference here is that Everton also had some chances to score."
