Lazio striker Sergio Floccari has been called into the Italy squad.

Floccari has been selected by Italy for the first time ever as a replacement for the injured Alberto Gilardino.

The Fiorentina striker pulled out of the squad this morning, along with the injured Parma full-back Luca Antonelli, after failing to shake off a groin problem.

Floccari is a surprise replacement for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Northern Ireland and Serbia.

It has also been confirmed that Stuttgart's Cristian Molinaro has been called up as a substitute for Antonelli.
