Lazio have gone cold on Gremio fullback Fabio Santos.

The Rome club have been in talks with the left-back for some weeks, but negotiations have stalled in recent days.

Portsmouth wing-back Nadir Belhadj is believed to be the cause, with Lazio stepping up their bid to land the Algeria international and Blues teammate Kevin-Prince Boateng, the Ghana World Cup star.

Fabio Santos knows Lazio are cooling their interest and is now ready to open talks over a new deal with Gremio.
