Kylian Hazard is confident Chelsea wanted to sign him for his potential.

Now starring on-loan with Cercle Brugge, Kylian insists he didn't land a Blues deal thanks to older brother Eden Hazard.

He told Foot Mercato: "Even though I was helped by my older brother, it's always nice to be bought by a big club. I am proud to belong to a club like Chelsea. I will try to show I deserve what they gave me.

"I think they were really into the idea of making me progress by loaning me so that I could reach a professional level and not just stay with the kids and just do training.

"I really felt that they were behind me. Not because my name was Hazard, but because they saw something and they wanted to get it out."
