Klopp makes Keita contract plea to Liverpool board

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is eager to see Naby Keita sign a new contract.

The midfielder is now inside the final year of his contract and it was suggested he could be sold by the Reds.

A return to Germany for the former RB Leipzig star had been mooted.

However, the Mirror says Klopp is keen to extend Keita's stay as the Guinea midfielder enters the final 12 months of his contract.

The 27-year-old has had a mixed time since signing from RB Leipzig for £54m four years ago but Klopp is keen to maximise his depth in all areas after last season's quadruple attempt underlined the need for fresh bodies.
