Keown: Bournemouth midfielder Christie proving himself Prem class

Former England defender Martin Keown admits he's a fan of Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Christie.

Keown heaped praise on the Scot after Bournemouth's win at Crystal Palace.

He said on BBC Sport: “There's only Arsenal and Liverpool that have taken more points (than Cherries) in the last six games, which is really testament to it. They were under some pressure.

“I really like the look of Christie. He's playing a little bit more withdrawn, he was a bit higher up the pitch.

“He can see a pass, he's definitely got really good vision and he runs well with the ball. (Antoine) Semenyo as well is another player that is just getting ever better.

“We know he (Christie) came in from Celtic.

“The (Marcos) Senesi goal, a really good whipped in ball with really good pace.

“As they get better, he is a player that it going from strength to strength. More touches than any other player, he's really full of it right now.

“Steve Clarke (Scotland manager) must be raving about him at the moment, because he's showing he really belongs, as do Bournemouth by the way, in this Premier League with their recent performances."
