Juventus legend Cabrini keen on joining Prandelli staff

Italy and Juventus legend Antonio Cabrini has welcomed talk of him being invited to join Cesare Prandelli's backroom team.

Cabrini is a close friend of the tactician who will be presented to the media in the Italian capital on Thursday after signing a four-year contract yesterday.

Recent reports have suggested that Cabrini could be part of Prandelli's back-room staff and the former defender is excited by the prospect.

"I'd be very happy to work with Cesare and for the national side," said the former defender. "It'll be great, but these are just rumours for now. We'll just have to see."

Cabrini, who mostly works as a TV pundit in Italy right now, insists that Prandelli will need more help from Serie A sides.

"Italians clubs need to start investing on our own youngsters rather than paying for foreign youngsters," he added.

"Italian football needs to understand that if it is to get back to the top at club and international level then they need to focus on their youth sectors."
