Juventus coach Allegri: We deserve fourth place; Dybala should always play

Juventus coach Max Allegri feel fourth place is the right position for his team.

Allegri admits they missed an opportunity with last Sunday's defeat at home to Inter Milan.

Ahead of facing Cagliari, the coach said: "I didn't think, I analysed the game. I always think clearly about what the team is doing this year, I think every team gets to the position they deserve. We are fourth and we deserve to be fourth. From now until the end of the season we can only improve because we almost always have one game per week and we can also work differently to improve the game situations and on individual players.

"There are 38 games in a league: sometimes you win when you don't deserve, sometimes draw when you deserved to win, you lost and deserved to win. Deserving to win is an abstract stuff. There are games like the one with Roma where maybe you were cut out of fourth place."

Asked about selecting Paulo Dybala when it has been confirmed he will leave at season's end, Allegri also said: "In this month and a half we have time to work but at the same time we have goals to reach.

"All the players that I have must give their contribution to reach the goals, regardless of whether one stays or goes away. We have players who are out of contract. You have to stay focused. Compliments are useless.

"Then this compliment stuff bothers me, because then you find alibis. Otherwise we become the team that settles for compliments, finds alibis or whatever. They don't owe us alibis or compliments, there must be only victories."
