Juventus coach Allegri denies players protested against ritiro

Juventus coach Max Allegri insists all players agreed to ritiro this week.

Juve went into ritiro after their Champions League defeat at Maccabi Haifa.

Asked if any players had protested, Allegri said: “Absolutely not, these are unfounded rumours. The team has never asked not to ritiro.

"We know the moment, we came back on Wednesday, we trained when we arrived and the next morning we were on the pitch. We are focused on trying to get out of this situation which is certainly not beautiful. We know that we cannot come out with just one match but we must start achieving results."

On facing Torino this weekend, “Tomorrow is the derby, a very popular match for everyone. Toro is a team that attacks and gives intensity, it will be a complicated game like all the games to be played are. You have to be careful, work as a team and try to get a positive result."
