José Ramon Sandoval named new coach of Granada

José Ramon Sandoval has been named new coach of Granada.

Sandoval takes charge after today's dismissal of Alexander Medina.

In his first stage as Rojiblanco coach, back in the 2014/15 season, Sandoval led the Nasrids against the odds to Primera safety, producing a final stretch with three victories and a draw against Atlético Madrid that sealed the salvation of the Granadans.

His miraculous performance earned Sandoval the chance for one more season. The man from Madrid tried to keep the team afloat in the following campaign, but the lack of consistency led to his dismissal after 25 games played, leaving the team at the bottom with 20 points.

Now Sandoval returns to the bench after two years out of football to fight for another sporting miracle or, at least, close the season with dignity.
