Jordon Ibe superb in Liverpool win over Preston

Liverpool came from behind to win 2-1 at Preston in Saturday's friendly, with Jordon Ibe setting up both their goals.

The 18-year-old winger scored in the pre-season Shankly Shield encounter at Deepdale 12 months ago and once again caught the eye after replacing Emre Can in the 22nd minute.

New signing Can had to limp off due to a calf strain on his non-competitive debut and Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will be hoping the Germany Under-21 midfielder's injury is not serious ahead of the squad's departure for Boston on Sunday.

Teenage midfielder Josh Brownhill gave North End a half-time advantage when he fired home from close range.

Suso replaced another Reds debutant, Rickie Lambert, at the break and he equalised on 74 minutes.

Ibe made a driving run from the left towards the Preston penalty area, and he managed to get a pass through to Suso on the right. The Spaniard stepped inside on his left foot and curled an excellent shot around Thomas Stuckmann from 15 yards to equalise.

Three minutes later, Liverpool took the lead. Another substitute, Kristoffer Peterson initiated the attack on the left, with the ball taken on by Ibe to the byline before being passed back to the Swede who finished coolly, the ball taking a slight deflection before finding the back of the net.
