Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan says Jesse Lingard has blown his career.

The former Manchester United midfielder, 31, has signed for FC Seoul this week.

"Good riddance to bad rubbish. Wasted his time, wasted his career, wasted his opportunities, wasted his time at Nottingham Forest, wasted Nottingham Forest's money, and this is the level he's now at. Well done," Jordan told talkSPORT.

"All the talent you had, all the opportunities you've had, you've played for the biggest club in world football in my view in Manchester United and you spent more time worrying about what you look like.

"Good player. No doubt he's a good player but he's a waste of time now.

"Ask Nottingham Forest fans what they think of him… waste of time. What a waste of an opportunity.

"You don't land in Seoul for a nondescript team in a nondescript league for nondescript money in the age of fortunes and people questioning whether you've got brands. Brand what? Brand idiot?

"What's his brand? Wasted talent, I've worked my way down from Man United to FC Seoul in four years, follow me!

"Who wants Jesse Lingard? If there was a queue of people to want Jesse Lingard, he had an opportunity at Nottingham Forest last year and a player of that perceived stature ended up being of absolutely no use whatsoever for them and couldn't even get in the side.

"I watched him when he went to Nottingham Forest and I thought to myself, 'I don't like that signing, I don't think that's going to work out, I think that's a poor signing, I think that's an owner who has been sucked in by the perception of what someone once was'.

"At times he embodied the culture that was going on inside Manchester United with players who were more concerned about what's happening on social media and what they look like with their ridiculous little antics rather than what they were doing on the football pitch and that is only because the player had the talent.

"My harshness is based upon that. He wasted people's time, specifically his own."
