Branislav Ivanovic is asking Chelsea fans to show veteran keeper Petr Cech respect when he lines up against them for the first time in an Arsenal shirt on Sunday in the Community Shield.
Cech ended his 11-year stay at Stamford Bridge last month after securing a £10m switch to their London rivals much to the anger of a section of Blues supporters.
The Serbian defender told Standard Sport: "I hope they will give respect to him because he deserves it.
"For 90 minutes the fans will support us for sure, they will be on our side.
"Before and after the game, I hope and I'm sure, they will give Petr respect."
