Italy captain Donnarumma: Mudryk penalty could've been there

Italy captain Gigio Donnarumma admits they were fortunate to escape a penalty call against Ukraine.

The 0-0 draw was enough for Italy to qualify for Euro2024, though things could've been different if Bryan Cristante had been judged to have fouled Ukraine winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.

PSG goalkeeper Donnarumma later told TMW: "From there I didn't understand very well, they are field situations. Then reviewing the images, in my opinion it could have been there. But that's okay, let's say that that's okay. Now let's not think about it, let's think about celebrating and enjoying this hard-fought draw as a great team.

"No, I don't have any unfinished business. I always try to give my best, I am the captain of this team and I have to set an example. I am proud of what I have done and what I am doing. I definitely only think about the pitch, about growing, about the team and about giving my best.

"I'm calm about other things."
