Marcus Thuram insists he has respect for former Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Inter signing had stated in the past he planned to be better than the Chelsea centre-forward.

He told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Compared to when I spoke that way, I've grown as a player and as a person. I'm just saying that Lukaku and I are different. I respect that, but I'm different. We're very different.

"I have always admired Lukaku, he has been a source of inspiration.

"I want to become stronger than him."
