Inter Milan are pulling back from plans to sign Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in January.
Off contract in June and struggling to break into the starting XI this season, Giroud is leaning towards departing Chelsea during the winter market.
A move to Inter, where former Blues manager Antonio Conte is keen, has been mooted for the World Cup winner.
However, Gazzetta dello Sport says Conte is now having a rethink and has other plans for his January budget.
Inter are set to focus on signing a midfielder, so leaving Giroud to the likes of Marseille and Crystal Palace over the New Year.
