Inter Milan goalkeeper Sommer happy with decisive save in Real Sociedad draw

Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer was happy with his performance for their 1-1 draw at Champions League opponents Real Sociedad.

Sommer made a super save to deny Mikel Oyarzabal with Inter still 1-0 down.

“It was important in that situation," Sommer later said.

“They had chances to score more goals and it would have been difficult if they had scored one more, but I am happy it went like this and I am happy with how we changed the game in the second half.

“We started to play better, we had more quality with the ball and we were calmer. We had missed it a little bit in the first half.

“I am really happy with this point because the first half was really bad and we were not into the game, but in the second half, we had some situations," continued the Swiss international.

“This is the Champions League, so we take this point and we have to correct something for the next one.

“I think tonight, in a difficult game, we showed that this team has a lot of character and that we are a big squad. The players who came in have quality, they created good situations and I am happy to be here."
