Inter Milan fullback Denzel Dumfries insists he has no regrets over his red card after Holland's World Cup penalty shootout defeat to Argentina.

Dumfries was shown a straight red card by ref Matheu Lahoz for a confrontation with some Argentine players.

“Netherlands against Argentina is always a heated match," he said, “you always know that there are going to be some arguments.

“There were mutual provocations, from me as well as from them.

"I don't like pointing fingers at other players, but I had my reasons.

“I don't know if it was a smart thing for me to do," he added, “but something happened that made me react like that."
