Inter Milan defender Cristian Chivu says Wesley Sneijder was within his rights to move to Galatasaray.

Chivu experienced similar controversy while at AS Roma earlier in his career.

"Is the situation in common with my farewell to Roma? No, it's different. At the time it was published in the newspaper that I would have done damage to Roma by rejecting the Real Madrid. From there began a current of anti-Chivu, I decided to leave based on insults from all sides, it was really bad.

"Here the squad and the club are behind him, so Wesley has the right to say yes or no. So we will see how this ends. However I hope that Wesley wants to stay here because Inter is in great need of him."
