Inter Milan coach Spalletti: Extraordinary Salah could be selfish

Inter Milan coach Luciano Spalletti admits Roma's players found Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah selfish at times.

Salah infuriated his team-mates at his old club Roma because he was reluctant to pass, always choosing to go it alone.

But Spalletti warned Salah that if he did not stop being so greedy he would have to buy a slap-up meal for the whole Roma squad!

The threat to hit him in the pocket worked a treat and he is enjoying the best season of his career since his move from Serie A last June.

Spalletti said: “Salah is an extraordinary player. We convinced him about the benefits of playing between the lines and now no-one knows who should pick him up. His breaks are lethal.

“Markers need a motorbike to catch him. But we also told him back then to rein in his individualistic instincts.

“We said that if he didn't pass to a better placed colleague then he would have to pay for the squad's dinner. That he would have to go to the cash machine!"
