Inter Milan aim to close a deal for Manchester United attacker Alexis Sanchez by Wednesday.
The Manchester Evening News says Inter have reopened talks on Sanchez as they look to complete a loan deal in the next 72 hours.
United want Inter to pay a bigger slice of Sanchez's sky-high £500,000-a-week wages to make the move happen this week.
It would represent a gamble on United's part to let Sanchez go because of a lack of depth in the squad so they are not prepared to bow to Inter's demands.
United want Inter to pay at least £5m of Sanchez's wages in the loan deal with a £15m option to make the move permanent next summer.
But so far Inter have failed well short of those figures but now seem ready to get back round the negotiating table with Sanchez desperate to quit Old Trafford in search of a new start.
