Inter Milan ace Nicolo Barella says 2021 was the best year of his career.

Barella won the Serie A title with Inter last season and also the Euros with Italy.

He said, "2021 was a wonderful year, made special because of the Scudetto and our triumph at the European Championship.

“My year ended with renewal with these colours, which makes me proud and is a great confidence boost for me.

“I came to this great team and became part of a significant project because I felt ready and then with the passing of time I felt more and more that the club had its full faith behind me."

He added, “The project was to win and I'm happy we did so. For the future I hope to be able to win even more trophies, but now we have to focus on the present.

“We have a lot to play for in the Supercoppa and then there is the league and the round of sixteen in the Champions League."
