INSIDER: Only Casemiro willing to take new wage reduction at Real Madrid

Real Madrid's board are battling with the players about a fresh round of pay-cuts.

That's according to Okdiario's chief football pundit Eduardo Inda, while speaking on El Chiringuito.

Inda has detailed the latest attempts by the board to get the playing squad to accept a wage reduction amidst the Spanish lockdown.

He revealed, "The captains came to the changing room and stated that the club had asked them to lower their salary.

"They told them to cut 10% and asked them for help. Sergio Ramos took the floor and transmitted that the accounts do not add up.

"Real Madrid has budgeted for losses of 90 million euros. The total salary of the players is 450, 50% of the club's budget.

"Ramos arrived with (Karim) Benzema, Marcelo and (Raphael) Varane and asked what the club says, the new reduction. He begins to look and 24 say no, that last year they already lowered their annual salary. Nobody wants to reduce it except for a single player: Casemiro."

However, Inda also stated: "The club was calling the players one by one and some face to face have changed their version and are accepting the discount."
