Ighalo agent full of pride delivering him to Man Utd

The agent of Shanghai Shenhua striker Odion Ighalo is proud to have overseen his loan move to Manchester United.

Atta Akene has been working with Ighalo for 13 years and was delighted to pull off the big headline making transfer of deadline day on Friday.

He told VG: "It feels amazing. I have to admit it. When you have discovered a player in Nigeria when he was 18 and brought him to test play in 10-15 minus degrees in Kadettangen ... It makes me incredibly proud to have been on this trip and got him here. Although it is only a loan in the first place, it is incredibly big.

"He's incredibly happy about it. It's a dream for him. I just posted a picture where he stands in Manchester United shirt as a kid on some sand pitch in Nigeria, where he grew up. It has always been a dream for him to play in that club. It is big.

"What is most important to me is having made such a transfer. It means a lot more to me than it does in dollars. I'm proud of what Odion has achieved. I am incredibly happy to have been on the whole trip. It is quite rare, as modern football has become, where players often switch agents. I've been with him since 2007. It's been 13 years together. The joy that he has made this transfer now is incredibly great and cannot be measured in anything."
