Former Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has defended the work of Max Allegri.

After leading Juve to the Scudetto, Allegri has been criticised for failing in Europe.

LA Galaxy striker Ibra said: “Allegri's right: only winning counts in football.

“If you play well and don't win, it doesn't count for anything.

“It's you journalists who agree that if someone plays well and loses, they're massacred.

“But at the end of the day we think the same way, you and I: all that matters is winning.

“The beautiful game doesn't lead you to anything. [Football] is just about winning, no matter how you do it."
