Former Manchester United and Barcelona midfielder Jordi Cruyff has revealed that he wanted Pep Guardiola to join United over Manchester City.
The Bayern Munich boss has been confirmed to take over from Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium in the summer but Cruyff feels that due to their history and tradition, United would have been a more appropriate choice for Guardiola.
"I would have liked Pep at United – they have more tradition than City," he told Esports Cope.
"It is a good moment to work at City, though, because they have the set-up, the money and the will to create a good team."
