Hull City defender Liam Rosenior feels their thrashing by Newcastle United was the wake-up call they needed.
Rosenior is warning the handsome advantage held in the fight for top-flight survival cannot be taken for granted.
"We're not already safe at all. Until you get enough points mathematically, you are never safe," he told the Hull Daily Mail.
"The lads have to keep at it and keep putting in performances. I think, in the first half, we actually played quite well and created four or five really good chances.
"On another day, they go in and it's a different game. It's just one of those days when it didn't happen for us. We've got a Cup quarter-final to look forward to against Sunderland."
