Stoke City boss Mark Hughes hopes to field Bojan Krkic in tonight's Capital One Cup clash with League Two Portsmouth.
The Potters are sweating on the fitness of Bojan after the summer signing from Barcelona took a knock to the ribs in Sunday's draw with Hull.
Hughes said: "It was my intention to start him but he sat out training yesterday (Tues), he has a bang on his ribs so we are going to have to check on him."
He added: "We have a realistic chance of winning two cup competitions this year and that is what we want to do."
