Huddersfield boss Fortheringham upset for Chelsea attacker Anjorin with season at risk

Chelsea attacker Tino Anjorin's season risks being over.

Anjorin was not involved in Huddersfield Town's 2-0 defeat to Watford, after the Championship club confirmed last week he would need surgery on a serious ankle injury he suffered in training, leaving the remainder of his season in jeopardy after scoring twice in nine appearances for the Terriers so far.

"We're really devastated for him," said manager Mark Fotheringham.

"We're going to assess it now with Chelsea and support him as much as we can with the medical staff. Leigh Bromby [Huddersfield director of football] will obviously have dialogue with Chelsea to find a solution to what we're going to do next.

"But first and foremost we're just concerned about Tino's welfare because we know he's going to be mentally down following that injury. He's a player we think the world of, he's well respected and liked in the group and he's a fans' favourite."
