Houston Dynamo have acquired Mexican defender Oscar Recio on loan from Mexican first division club C.F. Monterrey.

Per team and league policy, terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Recio is eligible to play effective immediately.

Recio joined the Dynamo at the beginning of preseason and has seen significant minutes in both preseason and reserve matches. The left back has played all 270 minutes of reserve league action in 2012 and has helped anchor a defense that has posted three shutouts in three matches.

Before joining the Dynamo, the 22-year-old defender spent time with CF Monterrey, Merida FC, Atlante FC and most recently Club de Fútbol Indios.
