Hodgson to snub Man Utd flops

England boss Roy Hodgson may ignore Manchester United's flops for his World Cup squad.

Midfielders Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley could now miss out with winger Ashley Young, says the Daily Star Sunday.

Another wide player, Wilfried Zaha has already blown his chances after originally being in Hodgson's plans.

He said: "Football players have to accept, unfortunately, that their England careers are tied to their careers at club level.

"If it's not going well in their clubs and it's not going well for them in their clubs - and other players are doing extremely well in their clubs - and other players are doing extremely well fin their clubs - it does put your position in the national team under some sort of threat."
