Hibernian boss Butcher intent on making January signings

Terry Butcher is intent on bringing some new players to Hibernian before the winter transfer window slams shut.

The Edinburgh club find themselves sitting seventh on the Scottish Premier League table and manager Butcher is determined to freshen his squad before the end of January in order to improve their current standing.

"We'll hopefully have something by the weekend but we'll have to wait and see," he told Sky Sports News.

"It's in the hands of the gods at the moment as some of the players we have gone after have been on loan twice during the season so can't come and play for a third club.

"It's been difficult in that respect but hopefully we will have some news soon as it's nice for the players and fans to have some fresh faces.

"But we have already shown that we have a squad here which is capable of winning football matches so I wouldn't say it was important for us to bring someone in, although it would be nice if we could do it."
