Hearts winger Andy Driver refuses to turn his back on England.
Driver, 21, could become the first beneficiary of new eligibility criteria that allows Scotland boss George Burley to select British passport holders born outside the country who have been schooled there for five years.
"The rule change opens a door for players whose circumstances are similar to mine," said Driver, who was born in Lancashire but moved to North Berwick as a 10-year-old.
"But if you are talking about me and Scotland, I haven't been picked yet and I can't expect to walk into a national team just because of a change in the rules."
He told Hearts News: "My main focus is to keep my form for Hearts and I believe the team is good enough to win further trophies.
"I like Hearts, Edinburgh and enjoy playing in the SPL.
"Scotland has been very good to me. The country has given me my education, I am earning a living here and my family are also very happy."
