Hannover sporting director Jorg Schmadtke has confirmed their interest in Manchester United attacker Mame Biram Diouf.

Diouf has been made available for loan this month by United.

Schmadtke, speaking with Bild, describes the striker as "fast and robust" and revealed he's been keen on the player since his Molde days.

However, a plan to watch the Senegal international in the flesh against Liverpool Reserves last night was scuppered by a frozen pitch.
