Inter Miami have had their plans to replace the dilapidated Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale given the go ahead after a 5-0 vote by the Miami City Commission, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.
Inter Miami will join the MLS in 2020 alongside five other new expansion teams. The club aims to play two seasons at the regenerated Lockhart Stadium before moving into a site at Miami Freedom Park, assuming plans to build a new stadium there are accepted.
Lockhart Stadium would then be used to house the club's academy and a United Soccer League (USL) League One team.
