Granit Xhaka rejects criticism of Arsenal celebrations

Granit Xhaka has rejected criticism of the manner of Arsenal's celebrations.

Despite their fine start to the season, Arsenal have come under criticism recently after they were ridiculed for the way they celebrated beating Fulham last weekend.

But Xhaka said: “Listen, people forget sometimes. I have been in Switzerland, in Germany, the Premier League is totally different.

“You can play against the last [team] and you will struggle for 90 minutes. You don't have a team here that gives up. It doesn't matter if they are 3-0 up or 3-0 down, they go for 90 minutes. You have respect for every club and the people, if they say that we can't celebrate because it was Fulham, they don't respect the Fulham team."

Sunday's opponents United are 12th in the League, but Xhaka is not underestimating them.

“I know they are maybe not looking at the moment so good, but it's Manchester United. It's always difficult," he said. “They are in the same position maybe that we were three years ago. They are building something as well. We have respect for them — but we go there to take the three points."
