Granada striker Soldado: Kane passed me like a plane at Spurs

Granada striker Roberto Soldado has paid tribute to former Tottenham teammate Harry Kane.

The veteran centre-forward spent two years with Tottenham, having been signed from Valencia in 2013, and saw Kane coming through the club's youth system as a young player.

And Soldado admits he isn't surprised seeing Kane now regarded among the best in the world after working with him at Spurs.

He recalled via AS: "I met Kane in the first year and ... he passed like a plane by me, (Emmanuel) Adebayor, (Jermain) Defoe.

"You could see him coming, as soon as he had minutes in the Europa League..."

Since Soldado left Tottenham, Kane has gone on to become the club's No1 centre-forward and also England's captain.

Meanwhile, Soldado, now 35, also was keen to pay tribute to Granada coach Diego Martinez.

Martinez guided Granada to seventh place last season and qualification for the Europa League. For Soldado, he admits he's not experienced coaching of the level of Martinez throughout his career.

He added: "It is hard for me to remember in my entire career a greater connection with a coach than that of Granada with Diego Martínez. Last year was excellent. This season we are trying to play in the best way two competitions."

Currently, Granada sit seventh on the LaLiga table, five points behind fourth place Real Madrid. They meet PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday night.
