Girona sporting director Quique Carcel admits they're planning for next season's Champions League.
Carcel says keeping the squad's best players will be crucial.
He said, "We are working to keep as many players as possible. But it will be different than now in winter. If we qualify for Europe or the Champions League it may make the player want to experience that.
"Now, there are market situations that we will not be able to do anything about because clubs come with important offers that allow the club to take a step forward.
"There are things that could not happen but maybe in the summer. Because we have contacted the parties and we have talked, we like the options we wanted for now or later."
On coach Michel, he added: "He's doing well and so are the players. It's obvious. We don't have to think about the afterlife. Just think about Real and if we do the opposite, it's bad. He thinks about fulfilling the contract, although logically anything can happen.
"He is happy and is focused on Girona."
