German Football Federation chiefs have expressed interest in Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp has announced he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

There are many indications that the German will take a break, but he has also been immediately placed with Barcelona and Roma.

Now the vice president of the German Federation Ronny Zimmermann has opened the door for Klopp after European Championship 2024.

"I don't think we need to discuss the fact that Jürgen Klopp is a brilliant coach. We also don't need to discuss the fact that he could be a candidate for the national team captain's job," he said.

"But right now it's like Christmas Eve to make such wishes. After the European Championship, we will talk about the national team captain's job, and not about what we might wish for. But I could live with Klopp, just like with many others."

Julian Nagelsmann will lead Germany at the Euros, with his deal to expire immediately after the tournament.
