Genoa coach Alberto Gilardino says he's happy to discuss new terms with the club.

After victory over Udinese, it appears Gilardino will become the first Genoa coach to last a full season since Gian Piero Gasperini.

He said, "I hope I can have a career like his... I had him as a coach, he knows very well what it means to coach Genoa in Genoa with these people, in this stadium.

"What happened is something incredible, there is an extraordinary and important work behind it, the team has put itself at the service of improving itself. This brings healthy competition, which ensures that we achieve these performances.

"I've said it several times, the club hasn't called me yet and hasn't called my agent. We haven't sat down, as far as I'm concerned, my energies and that of my staff are all about working to improve the team."
