"Against teams like Lazio it is important to defend with all the men available, but also to propose play at the right moments."
On Retegui, he also said: "Mateo comes from another league and another working culture. He has great physical qualities and significant room for improvement, as well as character and a proactive spirit. The goals I want from him are the ones we need to reach 40 ranking points."
Gilardino concluded: "It wasn't easy working with a small squad, where there were players who knew they had to leave. It wasn't easy to give this team an identity, but tonight we gave a fierce signal of attachment. We remain vigilant on the market, the club knows my wishes and I hope that something will happen during the week."
